Résultats des travaux d'été - Results of the summer works

Après la présentation de certains moules en silicone réalisés pendant l'été (voir ici), voici les premiers résultats de coulage.

Il manque encore le CAC Boomerang, les ailes du Bristol M1C et une coulée avec un 2ème moule pour le Vought XF5U Flying Pancake.

Mais j'attends que les moules soient bien reposés....😄

Still missing the CAC Boomerang, the wings of the Bristol M1C and a casting with a 2nd mold for the Vought XF5U Flying Pancake.

But I'm waiting for the molds to be well rested....😄

1/144 Deperdussin Hydrocorsa

Un modèle que j'ai coulé en métal à partir d'un kit en impression 3D du fabricant japonais V1 Models.

La production de ce fabricant est très originale, les décalcomanies sont de bonne qualité, mais certaines des pièces en 3D sont très cassantes car très (ou trop) fines...

Cet avion, dans sa version terrestre, a battu deux fois le record de vitesse en 1912 et 1913 et, dans sa version marine, a gagné la première course de la Coupe Schneider qui s'était tenue à Monaco en Avril 1913, avec comme pilote, Maurice Prévost.

A model I cast in metal from a 3D printed kit from Japanese manufacturer V1 Models.

The production of this manufacturer is very original, the decals are of good quality, but some of the 3D parts are very brittle because they are very (or too) thin...

This aircraft, in its land version, broke the speed record twice in 1912 and 1913 and, in its marine version, won the first race of the Schneider Cup held in Monaco in April 1913, with pilot Maurice Prevost.

1/144 Short SB.5

Lorsque la Société English Electric a proposé un chasseur avec une aile en flèche très accentuée et un empennage bas, le P1.A qui deviendra le Lightning, le concept a été tellement critiqué par le RAE (Royal Aircraft Establishment) que le Ministère de l'Air britannique a demandé à la Société Short Brothers de construire un démonstrateur pour vérifier notamment les conditions de vol à basse et très basse vitesse.

Sur ce démonstrateur, les essais se sont déroulés à basse vitesse (motif pour lequel le train d'atterrissage est fixe) avec des incidences des ailes, modifiées au sol uniquement, de 50°, 60° et 69° et des modifications de l'empennage, soit en partie basse soit en T au dessus (qui s'est avéré inutile).

Les résultats ont validé le concept proposé par English Electric de ce qui deviendra le Lightning.

Et voici donc, un modèle de Short SB.5, moulé et coulé en métal à partir du kit en résine de Anigrand, qui n'offre qu'une des 3 incidences d'ailes, sans empennage haut, mais dont les décalcomanies pour la livrée sont quelque peu inexactes.

Mais rien de bien difficile à corriger....

When English Electric proposed a fighter with a very accentuated swept wing and low empennage, the P1.A, which would become the Lightning, the concept was so criticised by the RAE (Royal Aircraft Establishment) that the British Air Ministry asked Short Brothers to build a demonstrator to check flight conditions at low and very low speeds.

On this demonstrator, the tests took place at low speed (reason for which the landing gear is fixed) with incidences of the wings, modified on the ground only, of 50°, 60° and 69° and modifications of the empennage, either in the lower part or in a T above (which turned out to be useless).

The results validated the concept proposed by English Electric of what will become the Lightning.

And here is a model of Short SB.5, molded and cast in metal from Anigrand's resin kit, which offers only one of the 3 wing incidences, without high empennage, but whose decals for the livery are somewhat inaccurate.

But nothing too difficult to fix....

1/144 Vought F4U Corsair

Il y a quelques années, lors de mon installation dans l'appartement que j'occupe actuellement et, lorsque j'ai commencé à remplir ma vitrine des nombreux modèles qui étaient dans des cartons, il y a eu quelques accidents, dont il a été fait état ici et là dans ce blog lorsque je les ai présentés après réparations.

Ce Corsair, provenant de M. Chaubet, est le dernier de cette série de malheureux, pour lequel j'ai attendu très longtemps de lui trouver une décoration un peu originale.... 

Et j'ai enfin trouvé grâce au site de Mr Decal, un fabricant tchèque qui fait des trucs originaux, à  différentes échelles (lien : https://mrdecal.zolnierowi.cz/en/pricing/lotnictwo )

Voici donc, à partir d'un modèle de M. Chaubet que j'ai du repeindre après accident et redécorer, un Vought Corsair aux couleurs des US Marines pendant la guerre de Corée.

Concernant la peinture, et contrairement à ce que je pensais, je me suis rendu compte que les Corsair des US Marines (tout au moins ceux de la Vmf-23) étaient particulièrement bien entretenus....(du moins avant l'accident....).

A few years ago, when I moved into the flat I currently occupy and when I started to fill my showcase with the many models that were in boxes, there were a few accidents, which have been reported here and there in this blog when I presented them after repairs.

This Corsair, from Mr Chaubet, is the last in this series of unfortunates, for which I have waited a very long time to find a slightly original decoration....

And I finally found thanks to the site of Mr Decal, a Czech manufacturer who makes original stuff, on different scales (link: https://mrdecal.zolnierowi.cz/en/pricing/lotnictwo )

Here is a Vought Corsair in the colours of the US Marines during the Korean War, based on a model by Mr Chaubet that I had to repaint after an accident and redecorate.

Regarding the paint, and contrary to what I thought, I realized that the US Marines' Corsairs (at least those of the Vmf-23) were particularly well maintained...(at least before the accident. ...).

1/144 Sikorsky Ch-54 Tarhe

Cela fait des années que j'ai ce modèle en résine au fond de la réserve, trouvé sur Ebay, et provenant d'un fabricant d'Europe de l'Est.

I have had this resin model in the bottom of the stash for years, found on Ebay and from an Eastern European manufacturer.

Il y a aussi quelques années, j'ai coulé en métal le fuselage et les supports de trains, et je l'ai laissé "se reposer" encore plusieurs années dans la réserve avec le master en résine.....

Puis, lors d'un déplacement au Japon cette année, j'ai réussi à me faire livrer quelques modèles, dont un modèle identique de Ch-54 réalisé par Anigrand et trouvé sur Dameya.

Je n'avais donc plus d'excuses pour ne pas monter ce modèle.

Le montage a nécessité pas mal de recherches car si le kit Anigrand est particulièrement succinct quant au montage (comme d'habitude) le kit initial n'a rien, strictement rien, comme explications ou notice...

En plus, quelques pièces de même usage sont différentes entre les 2 kits....

Also a few years ago, I cast the fuselage and landing gear supports in metal, and I let it 'rest' for several more years in the stash with the resin master.....

Then, during a trip to Japan this year, I managed to get a few models delivered to me, including an identical Ch-54 model made by Anigrand and found on Dameya.

So I had no more excuses not to build this model.

The assembly required a lot of research because if the Anigrand kit is particularly succinct in terms of assembly (as usual) the initial kit has nothing, absolutely nothing, as explanations or instructions...

In addition, some of the parts used for the same purpose are different between the 2 kits....

Mais, bon, même si cela a été un peu long, le montage proprement dit s'est effectué sans problème.

Et voici donc le résultat, le Sikorsky CH-54 Tarhe (nom indien d'une grue) au 1/144, en métal, qui est vraiment un drôle d'oiseau....

But, although it took a little while, the assembly itself was carried out without problem.

And here is the result, the Sikorsky CH-54 Tarhe (Indian name of a crane) at 1/144, in metal, which is really a funny bird....

L'été se rapproche (même s'il ne fait pas encore beau....).

Et l'été est synonyme de saison de création de moules en silicone puis coulage en métal.

Et donc, les nouveaux modèles à réaliser cet été sont.... l'objet du quiz....

Summer is approaching (even if the weather is not yet nice....).

And summer is synonymous with the season of creating silicone molds and then metal casting.
