1/144 IJN Hiryu

Il y a quelques années, j'ai présenté un bout de pont et l'ilot du porte-avions Hiryu, de la marine Impériale Japonaise, avec des modèles d'avions utilisés sur ce navire, le 7 décembre 1941, lors de l'attaque de Pearl Harbor : 2 Aichi D3A "Val" et 1 Mitsubishi A6M "Zero" (voir ici).

Dernièrement, j'ai repeint et redécoré un modèle représentant le 3e type d'appareil en service sur porte-avions de la marine Impériale Japonaise en décembre 1941 : le Nakajima B5N "Kate" (voir là).

Donc, mon diorama est maintenant complet et peut être présenté, même s'il fait un peu "pauvre" par rapport au nombre d'avions présents sur le pont lors des attaques, dont celle de Pearl Harbor, ainsi qu'on le voit sur une des rares photos des porte-avions japonais (au fond, le Soryu, sans doute photographié à partir de son sister-ship, le Hiryu).

A few years ago, I presented a section of deck and the island of the aircraft carrier Hiryu, of the Imperial Japanese Navy, with models of aircraft used on this ship, on December 7, 1941, during the Pearl Harbor attack: 2 Aichi D3A "Val" and 1 Mitsubishi A6M "Zero" (see here).

Recently, I repainted and redecorated a model representing the 3rd type of aircraft in service on aircraft carriers of the Imperial Japanese Navy in December 1941 (see there).

So, my diorama is now complete and can be presented, even if it looks a bit "poor" compared to the number of aircraft present on the deck during the attacks, including that of Pearl Harbor, as seen on one of the rare photos of Japanese aircraft carriers (in the background, the Soryu, probably photographed from her sister-ship, the Hiryu)

1/144 Mitsubishi A6M "Zero"

Je n'ai pas pu résister....
A peine M. Chaubet parti après avoir livré 6 nouveaux modèles (voir ici), que je me suis précipité sur la boîte à décalques et commencé à en poser....
Ce modèle peint avec une superbe usure par M. Chaubet représente un avion essayé par l'Allied Technical Air Intelligence Units (South East Asia), unité anglo-américaine pour tester les avions japonais capturés et prévoir des tactiques pour les combattre.
Le fabricant Myk Design decals propose une planche entière au 1/144 avec des Mitsubishi A6M "Zero" aux couleurs US, Britanniques et des nationalistes chinois.
Pour la patine de la peinture, vous pouvez vous référer au modèle qui était présenté à l'Imperial Museum de Londres, mais qui a peut être été déplacé depuis à Duxford.


I was not able to resist....
No sooner Mr. Chaubet left after delivering 6 new models (see here), I rushed to the decal box and began to apply....
This model painted with a superb weathering by Mr. Chaubet represents a plane tried by the Allied Technical Air Intelligence Units (South East Asia), an Anglo-American unit to test captured Japanese planes and to envisage tactics to fight them.
The manufacturer Myk Design decals offers an entire 1/144 sheet with Mitsubishi A6M "Zero" in US, British and Chinese nationalist liveries.
For the patina of the painting, you can refer to the model that was presented at the Imperial Museum in London, but that may have been moved to Duxford.

1/144 IJN Hiryu ???

Pas de messages ces prochains temps, car je dois faire un déplacement en Nouvelle Zélande où j'ai prévu un peu de temps libre pour un programme très "pointu" :
- le show aérien Warbirds Over Wanaka qui fête ses 30 ans,
- le Royal New Zealand Air Force Museum,
- le Aviation Heritage Museum de Peter Jackson (vous savez, le type du Seigneur des Anneaux et des maquettes Wingnut Wings)
- la Comté des Hobbits
et éventuellement le Museum of Transport (MOTAT) de Auckland.

Si j'ai encore un peu de temps, j'essaierai de faire un ou deux messages s'il y a des trucs intéressants....

En attendant, les lecteurs attentifs de ce blog ont surement noté que lors de la présentation de certains avions japonais, il avait été fait référence au porte-avions Hiryu, de la marine impériale japonaise (voir ici, ici et là).
Il est temps d'expliquer.
Non, je n'ai pas construit, en cachette, c'est à dire sans vous en parler, un porte-avions japonais au 1/144...
Non, mais j'ai un truc qui pourrait faire l'affaire...(et qui prend beaucoup moins de place...).

In the meantime, the attentive readers of this blog certainly noted that during the presentation of some Japanese airplanes, reference was made to the aircraft carrier Hiryu of the Imperial Japanese Navy (see here, here and there).
It's time to explain.
No, I did not build, in secret, ie without telling you, a Japanese aircraft carrier at 1/144...
No, but I have something that could do the trick... (and wich takes up much less space...).
So what is this thing ?

Non, ce n'est pas ça...!!!
Ce truc, c'est...
Ou plutôt, c'était le kit en résine du fabricant japonais Kami de Koro Koro représentant un bout de pont d'envol et l’îlot du porte-avions Hiryu.

This thing, it is...
Or rather, it was the resin kit of the Japanese manufacturer Kamide Koro Koro representing a piece of flight deck and island of the aircraft carrier Hiryu.

Je dis "c'était" car si je n'ai pas eu de problèmes pour l'îlot, j'en ai eu un, grave, avec le pont d'envol.
En effet, celui-ci s'est gondolé, comme cela peut arriver de temps en temps avec la résine, mais je n'ai pas réussi à le redresser, malgré plusieurs bains chauds (une des techniques pour redresser la résine qui se tord).
En traits noirs, les formes du pont...


I say "it was" because if I did not have problems for the island, I had one, serious, with the flight deck.
Indeed, it has curled, as it can happen from time to time with the resin, but I have not managed to straighten it, despite several hot baths (one of the techniques to straighten the resin that twists).
In black lines, the shapes of the deck...

Donc, impossible d'utiliser ce pont d'envol jusqu'à ce que je trouve, sur Ebay, un modèle en bois représentant une partie du pont du porte-avions Akagi.

So, it's impossible to use this flight deck until I find, on Ebay, a wooden model representing part of the Akagi aircraft carrier's deck.

Mais, ce pont d'envol est différent de celui du Hiryu.
Donc, muni de plans au 1/144 réalisés par Profile Morskie (voir le site ici), j'ai commencé par faire quelques petites modifications sur les côtés du pont de l'Akagi (voir les traits noirs).


But, this flight deck is different from that of the Hiryu.
So, having plans to 1/144 made by Profile Morskie (see website here), I started by making some small modifications on the sides of the Akagi flight deck (see the black lines).

Puis, j'ai ajouté les parties "métalliques" du pont d'envol, réalisées en carte plastique sur laquelle j'ai collé de la maille en photodécoupe, avant de peindre.

Then I added the "metallic" parts of the flight deck, realized in plastic card on which I glued photoetched parts of mesh, before painting.

Enfin, la peinture de l'ascenseur, puis celle du pont, avant de passer un vernis mat.


Finally, painting the elevator, the one of the deck before passing a matte varnish.

Et le voilà présenté avec l’îlot provenant du kit Kami de Koro Koro.

Le voici avec ses deux Aichi D3A "Val" et Mitsubishi A6M "Zero", tous les trois aux marquages du Hiryu, sur le pont d'envol.
Il y aurait même la place pour d'autres avions, non...?

Nota : La photo d'origine montre l’îlot avec les protections de guerre que je n'ai pas installées pour ne pas surcharger l’îlot.

Retour à la collection, qui augmente petit à petit et pour certains modèles, sont réparés peu à peu.

Un autre Mitsubishi A6M "Zero" monté et peint par M. Chaubet et sur lequel j'ai simplement modifié les marquages pour faire un avion du porte-avions Akagi lors de la bataille de Pearl Harbor (pour les marquages des avions japonais, voir ici).

Tiens, pour une fois ce n'est pas un avion du porte-avions Hiryu. Mais pourquoi encore la référence au Hiryu ?
