Piasecki-Vertol-Boeing Family at 1/144

Cela fait des années que parmi les photos de l'économiseur d'écran de mon ordinateur, j'ai cette photo des 4 hélicoptères double rotor de la famille Piasecki, devenue Vertol puis Boeing....


For years, among the photos of my computer's screensaver, I have this photo of the 4 double-rotor helicopters of the Piasecki family, which became Vertol and then Boeing....

Et il y a quelques jours à peine, en rangeant le CH-46 dans la vitrine avec ses petits copains..., je me suis aperçu que j'avais ces 4 hélicoptères de la photo au 1/144.
Alors je ne résiste pas à vous présenter ces 4 double rotors de ce même constructeur sous des noms différents :

1/144 Piasecki Vertol H-21 Workhorse

Un autre Piascki-Vertol H-21 Workhorse, cette fois aux couleurs de l'US Air Force, monté et peint par M. Chaubet, sur lequel j'ai simplement ajouté la couleur rouge dayglo des hélicoptères de sauvetage ou ceux opérant en milieu arctique et posé les décalques.

Another Piascki-Vertol H-21 Workhorse, this time in the colors of the US Air Force, mounted and painted by Mr. Chaubet, on which I simply applied the red dayglo color of rescue helicopters or those operating in arctic environment and put the decals.

1/144 Piasecki Vertol H-21

Conçu initialement comme hélicoptère de sauvetage (en particulier en milieu arctique où il pouvait voler à des températures de -53°C), le Piasecki H-21 a été utilisé dans bien d'autres rôles : grue volante et transport de marchandises, évacuations sanitaires, et tant par l'US Army au Vietnam que l'Aviation Légère de l'Armée de Terre (ALAT) pendant la guerre d'Algérie, pour le transport de troupes, éventuellement armé.

Officiellement désigné sous le nom de Shawnee par l'US Army, cet hélicoptère a aussi porté les surnom de "Workhorse" (cheval de trait) mais surtout de "Banane Volante".

Voici un modèle au 1/144 monté et peint par M. Chaubet sur lequel j'ai posé les décalques de CanMilAir.


Initially conceived as a rescue helicopter (particularly in the Arctic environment where he could fly at temperatures of -53 ° C), the Piasecki H-21 has been used in many other roles : flying crane and freight transport, medical evacuation and both by US Army in Vietnam and French Army Light Aviation (ALAT - Aviation Légère de l'Armée de Terre) during the war in Algeria, for the transport of troops, possibly armed.

Officially known as the Shawnee by the US Army, the helicopter also carried the nickname "Workhorse" but above "Flying Banana".

Here is a model at 1/144, assembled and painted by Mr. Chaubet, on which I put the CanMilAir decals.
