1/144 Aérospatiale SA341 Gazelle - by Chaubet

Après le North American F-86D Sabre Dog (voir ici) et le North American T-28 Trojan (voir là), voici le 3ème modèle produit par M. Chaubet pour cette saison d'hiver 2021-2022 : L'hélicoptère Aérospatiale (anciennement Sud Aviation) SA341 Gazelle, réalisé aux couleurs de l'ALAT (Aviation Légère de l'Armée de Terre).

After the North American F-86D Saber Dog (see here) and the North American T-28 Trojan (see there), here is the 3rd model produced by Mr. Chaubet for this winter season 2021-2022 : The Aérospatiale (formerly Sud Aviation) SA341 Gazelle helicopter, made in colors of the ALAT (the equivalent of the British Army Air Corps, user of this same helicopter, manufactured by Westland).

1/144 Sukhoi Su-25 "Frogfoot"

Cela fait des années que j'ai ce kit en métal de M. Chaubet dans la réserve, mais je ne trouvais pas de livrée intéressante.

Jusqu'à ces derniers jours où, en me promenant sur internet, j'ai trouvé un fabricant de décalques ukrainien (BSmodelle) qui, au milieu de nombreuses planches pour avions de ligne, en présente quelques unes d'avion de chasse en camouflage digital....

Et voici donc le résultat, au 1/144, un Sukhoi Su-25 aux couleurs de la force aérienne ukrainienne, avec camouflage digital.

I've had this metal kit from Mr. Chaubet in the stash for years, but couldn't find an interesting livery.

Until the last few days when, while browsing the internet, I found a Ukrainian decal manufacturer (BSmodelle) who, in the middle of many sheets for airliners, presents some of there of fighter planes in digital camouflage....

And here is the result, at 1/144, a Sukhoi Su-25 in the colors of the Ukrainian Air Force, with digital camouflage.

1/144 Aec Mandator & Blue Steel missile

Il y a quelques mois, j'ai reçu un certain nombre de véhicules anglais en impression 3D (voir ici).

Parmi eux, il y avait un Aec Mandator, camion spécialisé dans le transport des missiles Blue Steel équipant les V-Bombers, principalement Handley Page Victor et Avro Vulcan.

Alors, une fois ce véhicule et son missile montés et peints, je n'ai pas hésité à le mettre en scène avec un Avro Vulcan provenant de Diverse Images (et déjà présenté ici).

A few months ago I received a number of 3D printed English vehicles (see here).

Among them was an Aec Mandator, a truck specialized in transporting Blue Steel missiles fitted to V-Bombers, mainly Handley Page Victor and Avro Vulcan.

So, once this vehicle and its missile were assembled and painted, I didn't hesitate to stage it with an Avro Vulcan from Diverse Images (and already presented here).

1/144 North American T-28 Trojan

Second modèle de la production hivernale de M. Chaubet, après le F-86D Sabre Dog...

En fait, il avait réalisé le T-28 Fennec, soit la version française du T-28 Trojan, dont la principale caractéristique était le changement du moteur, en l'espèce un moteur de Boeing B-17 dont les surplus regorgeaient, et l'ajout de points d'ancrage d'armement sous les ailes, les Français étant à l'époque confrontés à la guerre d'Algérie.

Les Américains s'inspireront des modifications françaises pour leurs propres avions de contre-insurrection basés sur ce modèle.

C'est donc l'appareil américain T-28 Trojan que j'ai commandé à M. Chaubet, nécessitant quelques modifications sur le capot moteur, et que j'ai décoré aux couleurs de la "compagnie aérienne" Air America, dépendant de la CIA.

Les traits autour des "cocardes" laotiennes (provenant de Miniwing) sont là pour représenter le fait qu'elles pouvaient être enlevées après chaque opération...., un moyen pour masquer l'appartenance réelle des avions de la CIA.

In fact, he had made the T-28 Fennec, the French version of the T-28 Trojan, whose main characteristic was the change of engine, in this case a Boeing B-17 engine whose surpluses abounded, and the addition of armament anchor points under the wings, the French being at the time confronted with the Algerian war.

The Americans will take inspiration from the French modifications for their own counter-insurgency aircraft based on this model.

It is therefore the American T-28 Trojan aircraft that I ordered from Mr. Chaubet, requiring some modifications to the engine cover, and that I decorated in the colors of the Air America "airline", depending on the CIA.

The lines around the Laotian "roundels" (from Miniwing) are there to represent the fact that they could be removed after each operation..., a way to hide the real membership of the CIA planes.

Entre le mauvais temps et les vagues de Covid, j'ai pu rencontrer M. Chaubet lequel m'a apporté certains modèles de sa nouvelle production....

Pour commencer, voici le North American F-86D communément appelé "Sabre Dog" par référence à son prédécesseur le F-86 Sabre (même s'il n'y avait que 25 % de parties communes) et à son radome de nez, faisant penser à une truffe de chien....

Between the bad weather and the waves of Covid, I was able to meet Mr. Chaubet who brought me some models of his new production....

To begin with, here is the North American F-86D commonly called "Sabre Dog" by reference to its predecessor the F-86 Sabre (even though it only had 25% common parts) and its nose radome, reminiscent of a dog's nose....
