Un Vultee A-31 Vengeance au 1/144 de chez M. Chaubet qui l'a monté et peint avec une décoration spéciale du théâtre d'opérations de Nouvelle Guinée, et sur lequel j'ai mis les marquages australiens.

1/144 Hawker Sea Fury

Un modèle de Hawker Sea Fury au 1/144 de chez Diverse Images que j'ai acheté abîmé et que j'ai donc repeint et redécoré en avion Irakien.
Il faut dire que j'ai d'autres Sea Fury du même fabricant, que je n'ai pas modifiés. A voir dans des prochains posts avec également d'autres modèles car Diverse Images est un excellent fournisseur pour les avions anglais au 1/144 en white métal (Lancaster, Manchester, Halifax, Hampden,Wellington, Stirling, etc...).
Les décals proviennent de JBOT Decals qui a édité une planche dédiée au Sea Fury.


An 1/144 Hawker Sea Fury model from Diverse Images that I bought damaged and so I repainted and redecorated in Iraqi aircraft.
I must say that I have others Sea Fury from the same manufacturer, that I have not modified. To see in future posts also with other models because Diverse Images is an excellent supplier for 1/144 British aircraft  in english pewter (Lancaster, Manchester, Halifax, Hampden, Wellington, Stirling, etc...).
The decals comes from JBOT Decals who edited a sheet dedicated to the Sea Fury.

1/144 Hansa-Brandenburg W.29

Il y a quelques années, j’ai monté un kit Hansa-Brandenburg W.29 au 1/144 de chez Reviresco.
Je pensais avoir bien vérifié les côtes du modèle par rapport aux plans de Windsock Datafile.

A few years ago, I built a Reviresco Hansa-Brandenburg W.29 kit at 1/144 scale.
I thought I had really checked the dimensions of the model compared to Windsock Datafile plans.

Je trouvais que le modèle Reviresco était si bien fait que j’en ai acheté un deuxième.

Et cette année, Skytrex a aussi produit un W.29 et, comme à mon habitude de comparer tous les modèles, je l’ai bien sûr acheté.

J'ai été désespéré. Le modèle de Skytrex était bien plus conforme aux plans que celui de Reviresco.

Par exemple :

- le fuselage bien plus épais que celui de Reviresco, trop fin,

- les flotteurs plus grands (Photo 5)

- les ailes un peu plus larges et plus longues (attention, la différence tient du millimètre…) (Photo 6+7)

J’ai donc décidé de construire mon deuxième W.29 avec le modèle Skytrex.

Le premier problème a concerné la queue, qu’il a fallu affiner et reprendre pour faire la dernière version du W.29.

Pour les ailes, si celles de Skytrex sont conformes en longueur et largeur, elles sont trop épaisses, avec un effet ondulé. (Photo 6)

Or, les photos du Windsock Datafile montrent que les ailes des W.29 étaient particulièrement planes.

Après avoir essayé de limer les ailes, j’ai repris celles du modèle Reviresco. Tant pis pour le millimètre en moins.

J'ai conservé les montants des flotteurs et les flotteurs eux-mêmes de Skytrex.

Par contre, il a fallu modifier le moteur puisque les pipes d’échappement sont vers la droite sur le modèle Skytrex alors qu’elles sont en réalité vers la gauche. (Photo 8)

I found that the Reviresco model was so well that I bought a second one.

And this year, Skytrex also produced a W.29 and, as I usually compare all models, of course I purchased it.

I was desperate. The Skytrex model was much more exact with Windsock Datafile plans than the Revisresco model.

For example:

- the fuselage is much thicker than the Reviresco one, wich is too thin,

- the floats are bigger (Photo 5)

- the wings a little wider and longer (note the difference lies in one millimeter...) (Photo 6 + 7)

So I decided to build my second W.29 with the Skytrex model.

The first problem concerned the tail : I had to refine and retake it to do the latest W.29 version.

For the wings, if the Skytrex are conform in length and width, they are too thick, with a wavy effect. (Photo 6)

However, Windsock Datafile photos show that the W.29 wings were particularly flat.

After trying in vain to sleek the wings, I took back the Reviresco wings. So much for the missing millimeter.

I kept the Skytrex float-struts and floats.

After that, it was necessary to modify the engine because the exhaust pipes are to the right on the Skytrex model while they are on the left in real. (Photo 8)

Voilà le modèle monté. J’ai finalement choisi de faire un W.29 danois.

D’après le Windsock Datafile, les W.29 danois étaient couleur alu dans leur dernière version.

Mais j’ai préféré utiliser le « silbergrau » des avions allemands : pour la peinture, j’ai passé en même temps les bombes Tamya gris et alu jusqu’à obtenir l’effet souhaité . La difficulté est de donner le même effet dessus et dessous.

Pour les décalcomanies, des hinomaru japonais avec des centres blancs faits avec une perforeuse dans de la décalque blanche. 

Puis, un peu d'usure pour un avion maritime de la Mer du Nord et la Baltique.

Et voilà, deux W.29, dont un, un peu maigre, mais il fait partie des premiers modèles que j’ai réalisés. 

Here is the finished model. I finally chose to make a Danish W.29.

According to the Windsock Datafile, the Danish W.29 were aluminium colour in their last versions.

But I prefer to use the "silbergrau" of the German planes : for painting it, I used at the same time the Tamya grey bomb and aluminium bomb to obtain the desired effect. The challenge is to give the same effect above and below.

For decals, I used japanese roundels with white centres made with a punch in white decal.

Then, slightly worn for a maritime aircraft in the North Sea and Baltic.

And there, two W.29, one a little thin, but it is part of the first models I made.

Un modèle monté et peint avec une décoration spéciale par M. Chaubet, sur lequel j'ai posé des décalques Blue Rider pour faire un Messerschmitt Bf 109 de la Légion Condor, pendant la Guerre d'Espagne.

1/144 North American F-86 Sabre

Un modèle de North American F-86 Sabre au 1/144 en métal.
Il ne s'agit pas d'un modèle plastique comme il en existe plusieurs, mais bien d'un modèle en métal d'un fabricant russe ou ukrainien dont je ne connais pas le nom (MAJ : j'ai retrouvé le nom : MiniClassic)....
Je l'ai intégralement repeint puis décoré aux couleurs de la force aérienne portugaise.

It is not a plastic model as there are so many, but a metal model of a Russian or Ukrainian manufacturer whose I do not know the name (UPDATE : I found the name : Miniclassic)
I fully repainted and decorated it in the markings of the Portuguese Air Force.

1/144 Zis 5 + Polikarpov I.16

Un autre véhicule Zis 5 de chez Wargames South transportant un Polikarpov I.16 de chez Reviresco.
Il a fallu abaisser les battants de la caisse du véhicule sans les casser, couper les ailes du Polikarpov et les percer dans l'épaisseur.
Tout ça au 1/144....

- le troisième que M. Chaubet a monté et peint et que j'ai décoré : 812 Squadron Fleet Air Arm, Hms Vengeance, Pacific Fleet.
