canard - duck & morse - walrus & 196

Titre un peu sibyllin de ce post pour annoncer les kits que je viens de recevoir du fabricant australien Peter's Planes (voir le site dans les liens fabricants).

Mais contrairement à ce que j'ai annoncé dans le dernier post sur le Scale Modelworld, je ne vais pas pouvoir m'installer à l'établi pour les monter car, d'une part, j'en ai plein d'autres déjà en cours, et d'autre part, je dois m'absenter pour quelques jours à Hong Kong.

Pas de musées d'aviation, d'exposition de maquettes, sauf peut être un peu de shopping, sans doute pas au 1/144 mais surement au 1/200 ou 1/400....
On résiste à tout sauf à la tentation... 

En attendant, une petite présentation des kits de Peter's Planes, superbement moulés.


Title somewhat cryptic of this post to announce kits that I just received from the Australian manufacturer Peter's Planes (see the website in the Manufacturers links).

But contrary to what I announced in the last post about the Scale Modelworld, I'm not going to settle down at the workbench to mount them because, firstly, I have plenty of others already in progress, and secondly, I have to be away for a few days in Hong Kong.

No aviation museums, exhibition models, except maybe some shopping, probably not at 1/144, but surely at 1/200 or 1/400....

One resist everything except temptation...

Meanwhile, a small presentation of the Peter's Planes kits, beautifully molded.

1°) Arado Ar 196

Pas de nom d'animal pour cet hydravion, mais un simple numéro, alors qu'il était considéré comme un des meilleurs de sa catégorie.
Il a même été utilisé par Tintin ( ou Kuifje, Tim, 丁丁, タンタン, Tintim)....

No animal name for this aircraft, but a simple number, while he was considered as one of best in its category.

It has even been used by Tintin (or Kuifje, Tim, 丁丁, タンタン, Tintim)....

2°) Grumman J2F Duck

Avec l'étrave de son flotteur, on peut effectivement lui trouver une ressemblance avec le bec du canard...

With the bow of the floater, one can effectively find it a resemblance with the beak of the duck...

3°) Supermarine Walrus

Comment peut-on ainsi donner un tel nom à un hydravion, qui n'est certes pas un exemple d'aérodynamisme, mais de là à le comparer avec cet animal....

How can one give such this name to a seaplane, which is certainly not an example of aerodynamics, but then to compare it with this animal....

Ces kits de très grande qualité feront partie des exceptions, annoncées en titre de ce blog, c'est à dire des modèles que je réaliserai même s'ils ne sont pas en métal.
Comme j'ai acheté 2 kits de Walrus (car c'est l'un de mes deux avions préférés - je vous présenterai l'autre prochainement), je vais essayer de faire un moule pour le couler en métal.

Mais pour l'instant, j'ai une centaine de modèles en métal en cours, à monter, à mouler et en commande...
Donc, une chose après l'autre.
Maintenant, en route, en espérant trouver des boutiques comme ça...


These kits of high quality will be among the exceptions, announced in the title of this blog, i.e. models that I will realize even if they are not made of metal.

As I bought two Walrus kits (because it is one of my two favorite planes - I will present the other shortly), I'll try to make a mold for casting metal.

But at the moment, I have about a hundred metal models in progress, to be mounted, to be molded and in order ...
So one thing after another.
Now, on the way, hoping to find shops like this...
