1/144 Hawker Hunter F.3 - Part 1

Un peu de couleur pour fêter l'été.
Vous vous rappelez la chance que j'ai eue d'obtenir un lot de différents avions de course en kits au 1/144, parmi lesquels un Hawker Hunter F.3, prototype ayant établi un record de vitesse en 1953 (voir ici).

Some color to celebrate the summer.
You remember how lucky I was to get a lot of different racing aircraft kits at 1/144, including a Hawker Hunter F.3, prototype having established a speed record in 1953 (see here).

Pour procéder au montage de ce kit, il a fallu :
- la documentation avec le Warpaint et plus particulièrement les plans réduits à la bonne échelle,
- la maquette Revell pour récupérer les roues et trains d'atterrissage,
- bien étudier la notice,
- la planche de photodécoupe Brengun pour les trappes des trains d'atterrissage.

To mount this kit, it took :
- the documentation with the Warpaint and especially reduced plans at the correct scale,
- the Revell kit to get the wheels and landing gears,
- study the notice,
- the photoetched Brengun sheet for landing gear doors.

Après un léger ébarbage, le modèle étant très bien fait, il a fallu rectifier la sortie du réacteur, oblique sur le prototype alors qu'elle est droite sur les avions de série.

After a slight trimming, the model being very well crafted, I had to correct the reactor outlet, oblique on the prototype when it is right on aircraft series.

Puis, regraver légèrement les volets.

Then slightly rewrite the flaps.

Positionner l'emplacement des trains d'atterrissage à l'aide de la maquette Revell (d'accord, je n'ai pas creusé les puits de trains d'atterrissage, car le modèle était trop beau et je ne voulais pas l’abîmer, et puis, c'est de la miniature et pas de la maquette), rectifier la hauteur des trappes des trains d'atterrissage, et installer le tout.

Set the location of the landing gears with the Revell kit (okay, I have not dug undercarriage wells, because the model was too beautiful and I did not want to damage it, and then, it is miniature and not modeling), adjust the height of the landing gear doors, and install all that.

1/144 Messerschmitt Bf 108 Taifun

Un modèle en kit de Messerschmitt Bf 108 Taifun acheté à M. Chaubet que j'ai monté, peint et décoré avec les décalques du kit en résine du fabricant japonais Fox One, aux couleurs d'un avion ayant participé au Manx Air Derby, une course d'avions sur l'ile de Man dans les années 30.

A model kit of Messerschmitt Bf 108 Taifun bought to Mr. Chaubet that I mounted, painted and decorated with decals of the resin kit from Japanese manufacturer Fox One, in the colors of an aircraft participating in the Manx Air Derby, a planes race on the Isle of Man in the 30s.

1/144 North American P-51D Mustang

Le second modèle au 1/44 du fabricant ModelArt aux couleurs des Tuskegee Airmen, les premiers pilotes afro-américains des forces armées américaines.

Comme pour le premier modèle (voir ici), il a fallu repeindre une des deux ailes, dessus et dessous, pour supprimer l'étoile de nationalité qui figurait des deux côtés de chacune des ailes.


The second model at 1/44 scale of the manufacturer ModelArt in the colors of Tuskegee Airmen, the first African-American pilots of the U.S. armed forces.

Such as for the first model (see here), it took to repaint one of the two wings, above and below, to remove the nationality Star which appeared on both sides of each wing.

Un MiG 15 réalisé par M. Chaubet dans les couleurs de son premier utilisateur et créateur, la Russie.
J'ai juste modifié les chiffres d'immatriculation pour correspondre à la photo.

It is the lightweight fighter SNCASE (Société Nationale de Construction Aéronautiques du Sud Est) 5000 SE Baroudeur, made by Mr. Chaubet.

1/144 English Electric (BAC) Lightning F.1A - by Diverse Images

L'English Electric Lightning F1A, réalisé par Diverse Images, première version de production de cet avion si particulier avec ses deux réacteurs superposés, intercepteur pur de la guerre froide, dont le principal défaut était le peu d'autonomie à laquelle il a été remédié par l'ajout d'un réservoir ventral (version F.3), puis la possibilité d'emporter deux réservoirs externes sur les ailes (version F.6 - voir ici).


The English Electric Lightning F.1A, made by Diverse Images, first production version of this aircraft so special with two superposed reactors, a pure interceptor of the Cold War, whose the main drawback was the lack of autonomy which was remedied by the addition of a belly tank (version F.3), then the possibility of carrying two external fuel tanks over the wings (version F.6 - see here).

1/144 SNCASO S.O.6000 Triton - by Chaubet

Encore un de ces prototypes au 1/144 dont M. Chaubet a le secret, un des premiers avions à réaction français conçu en secret pendant la 2ème guerre mondiale, le SNCASO (Société Nationale de Construction Aéronautique de l'Ouest) Triton.

Another one of those prototypes at 1/144 which Mr. Chaubet had the secret, one of the first French jet aircraft developed in secret during the 2nd World War, the SNCASO (Société Nationale de Construction Aéronautique de l'Ouest) Triton.
