1/144 Percival P.56 Provost T.1

Il y a quelques années déjà, j'ai coulé en métal ce modèle d'avion d'entrainement Percival Provost sur la base du kit Miniwing au 1/144. J'ai longtemps hésité sur le choix de la livrée, force aérienne d'Oman ou du Soudan, jusqu'à ce que je trouve par hasard une décoration civile, plus attrayante.

Le montage n'a pas posé de problème, si ce n'est que je n'avais pas de droit à l'erreur, car j'avais endommagé le moule en silicone lors de la seconde coulée.... (qui était tout à fait exploitable, avec quand même un peu de mastic sur le fuselage...).

A few years ago, I cast this Percival Provost trainer model in metal based on the 1/144 Miniwing kit. I hesitated for a long time on the choice of the livery, air force of Oman or Sudan, until I found by chance a more attractive civilian decoration.

The assembly was not a problem, except that I had no room for error, as I had damaged the silicone mould during the second casting.... (which was perfectly usable, with a little bit of putty on the fuselage...).

1/144 IJN Hiryu

Il y a quelques années, j'ai présenté un bout de pont et l'ilot du porte-avions Hiryu, de la marine Impériale Japonaise, avec des modèles d'avions utilisés sur ce navire, le 7 décembre 1941, lors de l'attaque de Pearl Harbor : 2 Aichi D3A "Val" et 1 Mitsubishi A6M "Zero" (voir ici).

Dernièrement, j'ai repeint et redécoré un modèle représentant le 3e type d'appareil en service sur porte-avions de la marine Impériale Japonaise en décembre 1941 : le Nakajima B5N "Kate" (voir là).

Donc, mon diorama est maintenant complet et peut être présenté, même s'il fait un peu "pauvre" par rapport au nombre d'avions présents sur le pont lors des attaques, dont celle de Pearl Harbor, ainsi qu'on le voit sur une des rares photos des porte-avions japonais (au fond, le Soryu, sans doute photographié à partir de son sister-ship, le Hiryu).

A few years ago, I presented a section of deck and the island of the aircraft carrier Hiryu, of the Imperial Japanese Navy, with models of aircraft used on this ship, on December 7, 1941, during the Pearl Harbor attack: 2 Aichi D3A "Val" and 1 Mitsubishi A6M "Zero" (see here).

Recently, I repainted and redecorated a model representing the 3rd type of aircraft in service on aircraft carriers of the Imperial Japanese Navy in December 1941 (see there).

So, my diorama is now complete and can be presented, even if it looks a bit "poor" compared to the number of aircraft present on the deck during the attacks, including that of Pearl Harbor, as seen on one of the rare photos of Japanese aircraft carriers (in the background, the Soryu, probably photographed from her sister-ship, the Hiryu)

IJN Hyriu (part 1)

1/144 Nakajima B5N "Kate"

Cela fait des années que j'ai ce modèle de Nakajima B5N du fabricant japonais Avionix.

Je l'avais acheté en même temps qu'un autre, du même fabricant, que j'ai finalement repeint dans une livrée antérieure à Pearl Harbor (voir ici).

Mais comme pour le précédent modèle, sa livrée ne me convenait pas et, après une longue réflexion, j'ai décidé de le repeindre aussi, cette fois aux couleurs du porte-avions Hiryu, car je me suis aperçu qu'il restait encore de la place sur le diorama le concernant, et qu'il faisait partie des avions de ce navire lors de l'attaque sur Pearl Harbor.

Et puis, je me suis bien amusé à réaliser la peinture un peu incomplète pour ressembler à la photo de l'original, ci-dessous.

I have had this Nakajima B5N model from the Japanese manufacturer Avionix for years.

I bought it at the same time as another one, from the same manufacturer, which I finally repainted in a pre-Pearl Harbor livery (see here).

But as for the previous model, its livery did not suit me and, after a long reflection, I decided to repaint it too, this time in the colors of the aircraft carrier Hiryu, because I realized that there were still the place on the diorama concerning it, and that it was part of the planes of this ship during the attack on Pearl Harbor.

I also had a lot of fun making the painting a little incomplete to look like the photo of the original, below.
