En 1937, le fabricant français d'avions Arsenal a reçu une commande pour un chasseur-intercepteur lourd bimoteur, avec des moteurs en tandem, le second derrière le poste de pilotage, actionnant des hélices contrarotatives.
L'armement prévu était 4 canons de 20 mm et 6 mitrailleuses dans les ailes (et quelques bombes....).
Mais les difficultés liées à la motorisation ont fait que l'avion n'a pas pu effectuer de vol avant la capitulation de la France en 1940.
Les tentatives des allemands pour faire redémarrer le projet, sur les demandes du Gouvernement de Vichy, n'ayant pas été couronnées de succès, les travaux ont néanmoins repris à la Libération et le premier vol est intervenu en Juillet 1945.
Un second prototype, le VB.10-02, avec une verrière de type goutte d’eau, a effectué son premier vol en septembre 1946.

In 1937, the French aircraft manufacturer Arsenal received an order for a twin-engine heavy fighter-interceptor, with tandem engines, the second behind the cockpit, driving contra-rotating propellers.
The planned armament was four 20 mm cannons and six machine guns in the wings (and some bombs...)
But difficulties with the engine meant that the aircraft did not make a flight until the capitulation of France in 1940.
Attempts by the Germans to restart the project, at the request of the Vichy Government, were not successful, but work nevertheless resumed after the Liberation and the first flight took place in July 1945.
A second prototype, the VB.10-02, with a teardrop canopy, made its first flight in September 1946.

Avec toujours des problèmes de moteurs, ayant entraîné des incendies des deux prototypes et des accidents des premiers avions de production, et l'arrivée des premiers chasseurs à réaction, toutes les commandes du VB-10 furent annulées.
Le modèle présenté ici est donc le premier prototype VB-10-01 (avec le cockpit partiellement fermé à l'arrière) réalisé par M. Chaubet.
With continued engine problems, leading to fires in both prototypes and crashes of early production aircraft, and the arrival of the first jet fighters, all orders for the VB-10 were cancelled.
The model presented here is therefore the first prototype VB-10-01 (with the cockpit partially closed at the rear) produced by Mr. Chaubet.
