Il y a quelques mois, le patron du SIG 144 (Special Interest Group dédié à l'échelle 1/144) m'a indiqué qu'un membre d'un club de modélistes qu'il connaissait était décédé, laissant un stock conséquent de modèles montés ou non au 1/200 mais en métal, dont la famille ne savait pas quoi faire si ce n'est qu'elle ne voulait pas les jeter.
Connaissant mon amour du métal (et pas seulement de la musique...) le patron du Sig a donc pensé a moi, et il a aussi insisté quelque peu car j'étais a la fois gêné de ce cadeau (la famille ne voulait aucun paiement) mais aussi inquiet de passer à une autre échelle que je ne pratiquais que par l'achat de modèles tout faits (et déjà que ma production au 1/144 est lente).
Les premières images reçues montraient une certaine qualité des modèles.
A few months ago, the head of SIG 144 (Special Interest Group dedicated to 1/144 scale) told me that a member of a model-making club he knew had passed away, leaving behind a substantial stock of 1/200 scale models, some assembled and some not, made of metal. The family didn't know what to do with them, but they didn't want to throw them away.
Knowing my love of metal (and not just music...), the owner of SIG thought of me, and he even insisted a bit because I was both embarrassed by the gift (the family didn't want any payment) and worried about moving to a different scale than I'd previously only practiced by buying ready-made models (and especially since my 1/144 scale production is already slow).
The first pictures I received showed a certain quality to the models.
Après avoir accepté cette offre, j'ai discuté avec le patron du SIG144 des modalités de récupération lors du Scale ModelWorld show de Telford, et il m'a invité a prendre des dispositions particulières car ces modèles représentaient 11 kg de métal...

De retour chez moi, j'ai commencé à regarder ce que contenait ce gros paquet de 11 kg....
Il n'y a pas que des modèles complets....
Il y a aussi tous les accessoires : hélices, trains d'atterrissage, flotteurs si nécessaire etc....
Back home, I started looking at what was in this big 11 kg package....
It wasn't just complete models....
It also had all the accessories : propellers, landing gear, floats if needed, etc....
Vous comprenez pourquoi je n'ai rien acheté au Scale ModelWorld....
J'avais un vrai problème de place dans la valise....😇
Et maintenant....
Il s'agit de trier tout ce métal pour avoir une petite idée du nombre de modèles et de chaque type.
