1/144 Fieseler Storch

Parmi les derniers modèles créés par M. Chaubet au 1/144, je lui ai commandé un Fieseler Storch avec une peinture spéciale, que j'ai décoré par la suite en posant les décalques.
Et pour paraphraser un célèbre fabricant de vêtements italiens, dans ses propres publicités : vous le reconnaissez...?
Mais si, vous le reconnaissez : c'est l'un ou même le seul des Fieseler Storch à avoir eu une aventure exceptionnelle...

Petite explication : Après le débarquement Allié en Sicile en juillet 1943, le Duce Benito Mussolini est destitué par le Grand Conseil Faciste et assigné à résidence au Gran Sasso, un massif des Appenins, au centre de l'Italie.
Sur instructions personnelles de Hitler, un groupe de parachutistes et de commandos de la SS commandés par Otto Skorzeny libère Mussolini à la suite d'un raid en planeur (7 ou 8 planeurs sur 12 se poseront sur le massif du Gran Sasso).

Among the latest models created by Mr. Chaubet at 1/144, I ordered a Fieseler Storch with a special paint, which I then decorated with the decals.
And to paraphrase a famous Italian clothing manufacturer, in its own advertisements : do you recognize it...?
But yes, you recognize it : it is one or even the only one Fieseler Storch to have had an exceptional adventure...

Little explanation : After the Allied landing in Sicily in July 1943, Duce Benito Mussolini was removed by the Grand Facist Council and assigned to residence at the Gran Sasso, a massif of the Appenines, in central Italy.
On Hitler's personal instructions, a group of paratroopers and SS commandos commanded by Otto Skorzeny released Mussolini following a glider raid (7 or 8 gliders out of 12 will land on the Gran Sasso massif).

Après l'opération, Mussolini est exfiltré du site dans un Fieseler Storch piloté par le capitaine Gerlach, pilote personnel du général Student, commandant des troupes aéroportées allemandes.

Le seul problème est que Otto Skorzeny a voulu être du voyage (les mauvaises langues invoquant le souci de se faire une bonne publicité auprès de Hitler...) alourdissant ainsi l'appareil de manière conséquente : l'avion n'arrivant pas à décoller au bout de la distance disponible, une des roues heurte un rocher et fait basculer l'avion vers le bas de la falaise, mais qui est rétabli en vol grâce à une manoeuvre in extremis du pilote.

Et voici donc, au 1/144, ce célèbre Fieseler Storch.


After the operation, Mussolini is exfiltrated from the site in a Fieseler Storch piloted by the Captain Gerlach, personal pilot of General Student, commander of the German airborne troops.

The only problem is that Otto Skorzeny wanted to be traveling (the forked tongues invoking the concern of getting good publicity with Hitler ...) thus weighing down the aircraft in a significant way : the plane failing to take off at the end of the available distance, one of the wheels hits a rock and tilts the plane down the cliff, but which is restored to flight thanks to an in extremis maneuver by the pilot.

And here is, at 1/144, this famous Fieseler Storch.

Pour les puristes, certains fabricants de maquettes ou de diecast proposent ce modèle avec l'immatriculation SU + LL.
Mais, en regardant bien un agrandissement du fuselage, on voit que l'immatriculation est bien : SJ + LL


For purists, some model or diecast manufacturers offer this model with the SU + LL registration.
But, looking closely at an enlargement of the fuselage, we see that the well registration is : SJ + LL
