Pour les gens d'une certaine génération, comme la mienne bien que je ne sois pas trop âgé, et s'intéressant aux "choses de l'aviation", la Compagnie aérienne Pan American World Airways plus connue sous le nom de Pan Am, est un rêve : celui du transport aérien de masse aux destinations les plus lointaines, et de l'utilisation d'avions mythiques : Boeing Clipper, Boeing 377 Stratocruiser, Douglas DC-6, et Lockheed Constellation (que je n'ai pas connus malgré mon âge...).

Parmi ces avions, il y a le Boeing 707, réalisé par Corgi, dont la Pan Am a été le premier utilisateur, véritable révolution dans le monde aérien, sans aucun véritable concurrent.
